Biography

K-9 Rebel is a 3-year-old Belgian Malinois, born in the Netherlands. K-9 Rebel is a dual-purpose K9, trained in narcotics detection and patrol work who began his career in 2022 with the York County Sheriff's Office. Deputy Cody Frazier is assigned as K-9 Rebel's handler. This K-9 team in only a short amount of time has had several significant drug seizures and has had a tremendous impact on public safety in York County.

In addition to sniffing for drugs, K-9 Rebel is able to track humans, search buildings, search large areas for evidence, and apprehend suspects. When Rebel is not working, he enjoys hanging out at home and being a "normal" dog.

K-9 Rebel was purchased through a grant from the Stanton Foundation. This grant provided funds for all costs associated with the K-9 program for 3 years. These costs include outfitting the cruiser, equipment, training, food, veterinary expenses, and of course K-9 Rebel's favorite toys.
