Where did you grow up and go to school?
I grew up in York, Maine. I graduated from York High School. I attended one year on campus at Husson University in Bangor but wanted to be closer to home, so I graduated with my associate’s degree from York County Community College.
What prompted you to decide to seek employment with York County government?
I had heard from a family member about this opportunity and was very excited to apply.
How long have you worked for county government and in what capacities? What is your current title?
I have worked for the County in the Finance Department for almost 4 years. I am the Assistant to the Finance Director.
What did you do before joining York County government?
Before working for the County, I worked at a Maine bank for about 5 years. I started as a Bank Teller but over the years I advanced to the Assistant Manager of Deposit Services.
What do you like most about your current job?
I love that every day is different. I love puzzles, so sometimes it feels like my day to day is a giant puzzle and I love it when all the pieces come together! Our team works very well together and always offers different perspectives.
When you’re not working, what do you like to do?
I absolutely love to read, lift weights, listen to music, and spend time with my husband and our 5 cats. I also love to travel to places I have never been before. My best friend lives across the country, so it gives us the opportunity to find creative ways to see each other!
