Last night, Governor Janet Mills announced that President Joe Biden has approved the State of Maine’s request for a Major Disaster Declaration to help eight coastal counties recover from back-to-back severe storms on January 10th and January 13th that brought significant flooding and damage.
Under this declaration:
York County towns are eligible to receive reimbursements to help cover the cost of public infrastructure repairs as a result of damage sustained during the January 10th & January 13th storms.
York County individuals and businesses are also eligible for assistance. This assistance could include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster.
